Reach Radiologic Technologists with certification in Mammography.
The number of individuals with this certification has grown tremendously in recent years due to increased awareness and the need
for early detection of tumors and other abnormalities in the breast. It is important for all patients to make certain that the center they
choose is FDA approved and ACR accredited, and that a board-certified radiologist will be reading the mammogram. The best chance
anyone has for early detection of breast cancer is to go to a comprehensive breast center with a dedicated mammographer.
All mammographers must be licensed to perform general radiographic procedures in a state or have general certification from the
American Registry of Radiologic Technology or the American Registry of Clinical Radiologic Technologists. Also required, are at least 40
hours of documented training in mammography & continuing education courses.
