The American Alliance of Museums (formerly the American Association of Museums) is one organization that supports all museums. AAM members are primarily museum professionals, board members and volunteers who work for and with museums and have job titles that include: directors, curators, registrars, educators, trustees, exhibit designers, volunteers, development and public relations officers. AAM members work within a variety of museums concentrating on art, history, science, military, and children's museums as well as aquariums, botanical gardens, historic sites, zoos, science and technology centers.
AAM serves its extremely educated and enthusiastic membership through many programs including professional development, accreditation, advocacy and publications.
