DESCRIPTION:
THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION IS A PRIVATELY FUNDED NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION WHICH WORKS TO SAVE AMERICA'S HISTORIC PLACES. THEIR MISSION IS TO PROTECT SIGNIFICANT PLACES REPRESENTING OUR DIVERSE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE BY TAKING DIRECT ACTION AND INSPIRING BROAD PUBLIC SUPPORT BY FOSTERING A DEEP SENSE OF COMMUNITY, COMMITMENT, AND PASSION FOR SAVING PLACES.
NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION MEMBERS/DONORS ARE PEOPLE WHO LOVE HISTORIC PLACES, FROM HOUSES, TRAIN DEPOTS, AND THEATERS TO BATTLEFIELDS, NATIONAL PARKS, HERITAGE TRAVEL DESTINATIONS, AND SACRED SITES. THEY WANT TO HELP PRESERVE THOSE PLACES THAT TELL THE STORIES OF ALL AMERICANS AND WHERE HISTORY HAPPENED.
