The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is the political voice of the national environmental movement and the only organization devoted full-time to shaping a pro-environment Congress and White House.
Donors/members of LCV support efforts to: Run tough and effective campaigns to defeat anti- environment candidates, and support those leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy future for America. Publish the National Environmental Scorecard and Presidential Report Card to hold Congress and the administration accountable for their actions on the environment. Operate regional offices, build coalitions, promote grassroots power, and train the next generation of environmental leaders.
LCV's track record demonstrates their ability to use the democratic process to improve the environment. They have: Defeated 23 out of 37 anti-environmental candidates targeted by their dirty dozen campaigns since 1996, helped hundreds of environmental leaders to victory, both on Capitol Hill and at the ballot box, had over 80% LCV endorsed candidates win since 1996.
