Coalition for the Homeless is the nation's oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women and children. Since 1981 the organization has been dedicated to helping the homeless find affordable housing, sufficient food and job skill training to help them get employed. In addition, the organization advocates for civil rights for the homeless community, such as demanding the government stop the dangerous practice of discharging mentally ill people to the streets. Through generous donations and support, Coalition for The Homeless is able to make a major impact in supporting the homeless community throughout the nation.
