PMTA is a statewide organization representing members in over 67 counties and 2560 municipalities engaged in all segments of motor truck services. PMTA assists members in obtaining motor vehicle services including federal DOT numbers, IFTA and motor carrier road tax decals, heavy vehicle use tax payments, trip permits, and more. PMTA’s primary functions are to promote a strong economic climate, partner with enforcement agencies to develop safety initiatives, provide a forum for continuing education, disseminate positive industry information to the press, and be accessible to members. Members oversee daily operations, schedule and pick up freight, load and offload, transport and deliver cargo, and maintain equipment. Members obtain CDLs to transport goods for industries including construction, manufacturing, food and beverage, petroleum, sanitation, automotive, and general freight.
