In the United States, Feed the Children distributes food and other essential product donations from five distribution centers to their network of local community partners, they provide school supplies and books to teachers and students in vulnerable areas, and they mobilize resources quickly to aid recovery efforts when natural disasters strike.
Internationally, Feed the Children manages child-focused community development programs that focus on reducing hunger and malnutrition, teaching health and promoting self-reliance in 8 countries in Asoa, Africa, and Latin Ameica.
They work to connect donors, partners, experts, volunteers, leaders, and communities to raise awareness about childhood hunger and make it a thing of the past.
Working with their partners, in Fiscal Year 2020 Feed the Children:
- Distributed approximately 87.8 million pounds of food and essential items worldwide to benefit more than 7.3 million people globally.
- Reached 5.6 million children and families in the United States with distributions of shelf-stable food and essential household items valued at more than $329 million.
- Benefited 1.7 million children and caregivers in the international communities where we work, providing more than 241,000 school-age children with regular, nutritious meals.
- Helped more than 17,000 teachers across 355 U.S. school districts with more than $3.7 million in teaching supplies as well as books valued at more than $7 million to reach more than 574,000 students.
- Provided more than 1.7 million pounds of food and supplies valued at more than $4.6 million to disaster-affected regions in the United States.
Feed the Children donors are compassionate humanitarians, dedicated to ending childhood hunger by helping to provide resources to children and families impacted by poverty both in the US and internationally.
