Helen Keller Intl is a leading nonprofit organization that implements more than 100 programs reaching millions of people in need each year. In partnership with local communities, Helen Keller brings science-based,practical solutions to vulnerable families in Africa, Asia and the U.S., ensuring access to proper vision care, essential nutrition, and preventative and curative treatments for neglected diseases. Its flagship programs are globally recognized as among the most cost-effective in public health.

 

In one year, the organization’s programs provided:

  • Millions of high‑dosage vitamin A supplements that safeguard the vision and immune systems of impoverished children living in sub‑Saharan Africa.

  • 110 million treatments to vulnerable people at risk from blinding and disfiguring diseases, such as trachoma, lymphatic filariasis, and river blindness.

  • Tools and continued training that 1.7 million families in Africa and Asia need to grow more nutritious foods and sustain their livelihoods.

  • 92,000 vision screenings and 20,500 pairs of prescription eyeglasses to disadvantaged school children and other underserved populations in the U.S., including homeless youth and veterans.
