The American Church List (ACL) database is the premier database of churches in the United States. It includes over 340,000 houses of worship and represents more than 250 denominations.
ACL database enhanced compilation efforts focus on the aggregation of data received from over 25 denominational directories, yellow page directories, white pages, web research and phone hook-ups. Church related information found in the church sections of the yellow pages is compiled as the phone books go through the Data Axle update process. This ACL unique information includes religious denomination, church size, church attendance, membership race, church school size, district and various church ministries. This information allows customers to target specific groups of people within the church or religious organization based on their marketing needs or use case.
Three ACL Executives are compiled for each church: Minister (person in charge), Youth Minister and Music Minister. Denominational directories are compiled to gain accurate religious denomination codes, ACL executives and other church ministries.
The participation of the church in various programs is also verified: youth ministry, children’s ministry, women’s ministry, men’s ministry, music ministry, counseling, hearing-impaired, broadcast, video or cassette ministry and worship type. Additional information is also gathered: whether the church has a school or Sunday school, computers, a kitchen or library, whether they offer transportation to the church, if they have group travel events, whether they participate in team sports and if they are direct mail responders. |
