In 1971, a group of friends came together and saved 79 lives, and a mission was born. For over 50 years, the American Kidney Fund (AKF) has been fighting for patients and families. The same spirit of compassion and commitment to people in which they were founded still drives their work today. Their mission of fighting kidney disease and helping people live healthier lives is carried out through an unmatched scope of programs that support people wherever they are in their fight against kidney disease – from prevention through post-transplant living.
Donors to AKF help make these programs possible.
