SEVA is an International health organization Founded in 1978 and is known for our work in preventable blindness. SEVA has helped restore eyesight to nearly 4 million blind people in over 20 countries around the world, including places like Tibet, Nepal, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Guatemala, and in Native American communities in the United States. SEVA promotes self-reliance and aims to reduce dependence on outside assistance. SEVA seeks sustainable solutions that come from within individuals and communities so our partners continue delivering services long after our involvement has ended. SEVA was founded by public health expert DR. Larry Brilliant, humanitarian activist Wavy Gravy and spiritual leader Ram Dass. In some circles SEVA is best known for our world class benefit concerts, which in 35 years, have featured hundreds of all-star musicians and have helped us raise millions in support of SEVA’s global programs.
