USA Carry was created in September of 2007. Founder Luke McCoy had started Nevada Carry which was a website similar to USA Carry but focusing only on Nevada. After deciding to move out of Nevada, he wanted to launch a website that covered every state. Being a web developer since 1999, USA Carry was quickly born. It launched with concealed carry information by state, concealed carry permit reciprocity maps and concealed carry forums. The carry maps quickly became the most popular feature since no one else had an interactive permit map with the ability to select multiple permits.

Other new features include the Directory where users can find firearm instructors, gun stores, gun shops, gun ranges and gunsmiths and the Permit Reminder which allows users to get email reminders when they need to renew their permits.
