Obstetrics and Gynecology Trends targets medical professionals who treat any conditions of the female reproductive organs before, during, and after pregnancy.

This group allows you to target highly intelligent, ambitious, well-educated consumers who are dedicated to the care and well-being of women.  This target group has received their doctorate degree and completed an internship and residency program.  Continuing education is essential for doctors to keep up with medical advances and license requirements.  Not only do they attend classes, workshops, conventions, and seminars, docs also read journals, articles, magazines, and publication to stay current in the obstetric and gynecology field.

The OB/GYN treats pregnant and non-pregnant patients.  The gynecologist provides pre-natal care, performs annual well-woman exams including pap smears, treats infertility, sexually transmitted diseases, endometriosis, problems with menstruation, and menopause.  They prescribe birth control to help with family planning and hormones for those lacking estrogen.  They often diagnose breast, uterine, and ovarian cancer.  Surgical procedures such as tubal ligation, amniocentesis, abortions, hysterectomies, DNCs, and the removal of cysts and tumors from the uterus, cervix, and ovaries are performed.  Vaginal and caesarian section deliveries are daily occurrences, and many OB/GYNs perform circumcisions on infant males.  Newborn care tips and information are provided to the new mothers.

The DO requires the proper tools to care for a patient.  Common tools of the trade are stethoscopes, otoscopes, opthalmoscopes, reflex hammer, blood pressure devices, thermometers, prescription pads, scales, gloves, needles, medications, exam gowns, ultrasound machines, forceps, anesthetics, fetal and maternal monitors, delivery tables, vacuum extractors, fetal data management systems, speculums, scissors, retractors, exam kits, and medical and office furniture.  The MD needs disposable systems and services for biological and hazardous waste.

A doctor can work in a variety of settings.  Some work in private practice, group practice, or hospitals.  They are assisted by nurses and administrators.   They prescribe medication to their patients, so they work closely with pharmacists and local pharmacies.

Medical professionals are concerned about their physical fitness.  A doctor typically maintains a healthy lifestyle.  They eat right, exercise, and take vitamin supplements.  They may shop at a health food store to ensure they are getting the proper nutrients.  The MD may have a gym membership, run, or bike.  They may take martial arts, yoga, spin, Zumba or other exercise classes.

Stress levels in the medical profession are often high due to the long hours and irregular and on-call shifts.  These factors may also cause stress for their family.  Consequently, they search for hobbies to help reduce their stress level, and they strive to balance work and home demands.  They hire out many of the home chores such as yard work, home maintenance, car maintenance, cleaning, banking, grocery shopping, and other personal errands.

Many in this group graduate with high debt load due to student loans, so at the beginning of their career, they may need a budget or money management system.  MDs are a highly compensated group, so as their career progresses, they tend to have discretionary income.  They can then purchase luxury homes, vehicles, vacations, and other toys such as RVs, ATVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and high-end electronics.  They manage their personal financial portfolio and enjoying investing.

This list is ideal for any medical related publication, catalog, continuing education, or seminar offers.
