Pending Auction Sale: An auction date to sell the property has been planned as a result of a mortgage default and/or foreclosure related proceedings.

REO Properties (Bank Owned): Properties currently owned by a bank, lender or other financial institution due to a foreclosure related proceeding.

Each State uses different default status definitions. Some states only record one step of the filing processPending Auction Sale must be used to reach consumers in the following states with one recording step: AK, AL, AR, AZ, DC, DE, GA, HI, IL, IN, LA, MI, MS, MT, ND, NH, PA, SD, TX, WA, WY, and specific OH counties.
