DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1979, the New Israel Fund advances civil rights and social justice for all Israelis, and believes the only secure Israel is a just Israel. Having granted more than $200 million to 800 Israeli social change organizations and advocacy groups since 1979, NIF is in the vanguard of fighting for social change in Israel. NIF grantees work in three core areas: Civil and Human Rights; Social and Economic Justice; Religious Pluralism and Tolerance.

The New Israel Fund works tirelessly to:

- Ensure equal rights for Israel's Arab and Bedouin citizens;

- Maintain a safe, healthy and sustainable environment for Israel;

- Accelerate the absorption of Russian and Ethiopian Jewish immigrants into Israeli society;

- Ensure that women gain and keep equal rights throughout Israeli society
