The Giving Gals list contains active and frequent Age 55+ female donors. In the past two decades women have gained attention as a powerful force in charitable giving. Many organizations now focus their fundraising efforts more and more on female donors. Women develop a strong bond with the charities they support, and they derive many personal rewards from their philanthropy including a sense of altruism, self-empowerment, and feeling part of a larger community. Women typically value participating in the organization they support and the more they participate the more they donate.
