Founded in 1940, the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) is the only comprehensive national organization dedicated to state and local history. AASLH members are primarily Directors, Presidents, Curators, Museum Directors, Historians, Educators, and Archivists in charge of state and local historical societies and museums. AASLH members are involved in a myriad of topics including art, history, genealogy, archives, collectibles, education, fundraising, marketing, exhibition design and fabrication, etc.
AASLH serves its membership through a number of benefits including a quarterly subscription to History News, workshops and seminars, technical leaflets, history professionals network, video lending library, and much more.
