Description: This enhanced file represents registered voters in Arkansas, Connecticut, Washington, DC, Kansas, Michigan, North Carolina and Oklahoma who have been identified as religiously affiliated with the Protestant, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Greek Orthodox or Jewish faith. The Judeo-Christian voter segment has played a vital role in recent elections (for counts and pricing for all other states contact List Manager).
In the 2004 US Presidential election cycle, 60.95% of all eligible voters turned out. The turnout among the Judeo-Christian voter segment was higher except in the Latino catholic segment at 52% and the religious but unaffiliated sub-segment at 52%. The sub-segments showing an increase over the general turnout included Evangelical Protestants at 63%, Mainline Protestants at 69%, Non-Latino Catholics at 67%, Jewish at 87% and Other Faiths at 62%.
Per post-election surveys show that social issues were very important to these voters at 49%, foreign policy issues at 80%, and economic issues at 58%. This segment should not be overlooked for fundraising appeals as well as voter education, GOTV, issue mailings and calls-to-action.
