The Jane Goodall Institute for Wildlife Research, Education and Conservation works to increase awareness, support, and training in issues related to humankind’s relationship with each other, the environment, and other animals. By creating sanctuaries and reserves, JGI increases primate habitat conservation, creates healthy ecosystems, and promotes sustainable livelihoods for indigenous peoples. Through its website, www.janegoodall.org, and programs like Roots & Shoots, which provides educators with global stewardship exercises and lesson plans, JGI nurtures new generations of committed, active citizens.
JGI supporters are interested in and support a broad array of causes. They don't just worry about chimpanzees, but the many interrelated issues impacting the chimpanzees' ecosystems including deforestation, sustainable agriculture, overpopulation, poverty, health and family planning, community centered conservation, food and water safety, scientific research, and women's empowerment. These are donors who don't require an inducement to support earth-friendly causes. They simply respond to the call from fundraisers that focus on preserving sensitive ecosystems, protecting endangered species, and cultivating community centered, sustainable, environmentally friendly practices. They are also quick to back political organizations that share their deep concern for the planet.
Educated and deeply concerned about the health of the planet, JGI donors are the type of progressive consumers who drive hybrid cars, buy “green” products, and look for organic foods that help them maintain a healthy lifestyle and eco-friendly homes. |
