For over twenty years, the Southwest Indian Foundation has been desperately working to relieve the tremendous poverty and despair among the poor Native Americans in the Southwestern United States.
They actively support 17 mission schools on the Reservation, support two homes for battered women and two orphanages for Indian children. They sponsor four alcohol counseling centers and 30 AA groups. They are strong advocates of "self-help."
Names have been acquired through a catalog mailing offering beautiful works of art, hand-crafted by Indian artists and artisans as well as donor appeals.
