The Northern Cheyenne are a notable people with a proud culture. Soaring Eagle was created to help care for Northern Cheyenne elders so their traditions can be continued. At the Heritage Living Center in Southeast Montana, elders have access to comfortable housing as well as meals and other needs. Without support their donors, some elders would have to leave their communities to receive care at nursing homes hundreds of miles from home. By staying close to family and friends, tribal elders have the opportunity to share their wisdom and knowledge with future generations.

DESCRIPTION

In 1997, following a brief retirement, Father Emmett founded Soaring Eagle, a Public Charity. Soaring Eagle’s primary focus was the building of the Heritage Living Center overlooking Ashland Montana. Completed in 2002, it was designed to provide an assisted living environment for Native American elders. The Center ensures residents have a safe and comfortable environment, healthy meals and enjoyable cultural activities. Most importantly, the center allows these remarkableIndividuals to remain close to their friends and family on the reservation, which is critical to preserving the Cheyenne stories and traditions.
