AAAS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of scientific and technological excellence across all scientific disciplines. The association publishes the most important research findings and news of the scientific community, and works to promote public understanding of science. Founded in 1848, AAAS is the worlds leading multi-disciplinary scientific society.
AAAS members span the full range of scientific disciplines - from molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and biotechnology to computer science, chemistry, physics and engineering. U.S. members may be identified by scientific discipline, industry and job function. These members are highly educated with 80% holding a PhD or MD and have an annual income of about $100,000.
The primary benefit of membership is a subscription to the association's prestigious weekly journal, Science.
