Ploughshares has published quality literature since 1971. The award-winning Ploughshares Literary Journal publishes 3 issues annually, plus an anthology of longer work. Each issue features a collection of poems, essays and short stories curated by a guest editor. The revolving editor concept gives each issue of Ploughshares a unique voice, as it reflects each editor's perspective. Considered among the Top 5 literary journals in the country, Ploughshares continues to win numerous literary awards and is constantly praised by the likes of The New York Times and Literary Review Magazine. Works that first appeared in Ploughshares have been featured more than 135 times in such publications as The Best American Essays, The Best American Poetry and The Best American Short Stories.
